Sweet release.

damn today was a bitch, we partied for Amy's 21st last night and i danced on a bar table. God bars are ridiculous, too many people and no one around with any sense to them. Which is great at some points to just stop thinking and live right in front of you, but damn drinking wears on you. I finished a portfolio print today and my bank acount says $10.81. our first track off the new recording is almost done and we just recorded drums for 4 more songs and wrote 2 brand new songs besides those.

Cartoons are really relaxing i feel and some even make you think and contemplate ideas. I am watching Black Lagoon right now and it is surprisingly amazing. Action, adventure and reason, very great combination. The first episode kind of sucked but almost all intros to anything are slow and not as good, but it is needed. I am waiting for the 13th episode to load right now so this post was just to use my time while waiting. Sweet release.

new thoughts on an idea

isaac says Mono already used oragami in the inside of one of their albums, but you know what fuck Mono. Im pretty sure the paper crane as an idea has been done many times, but we're talking about the shape of energy. I dont think anyone who has used this widely known symbol of origami animals, was talking about the transfer of energy through physics. All i'm saying is "never back down" (sorry inside joke, but you get it). the idea is air tight and it even has really funny points to it. Dave was talking about when the crane dies and goes back to a sheet of paper when another animal is made out of it, that animal still has the creases from the crane. man just think about it.
the triangle has also been used before so i hope i am not ripping anyone off by stating it points at the heavens while being grounded by earth (yes even more symbolism, chris this is your chance to shine your art history upon us).

i kind of just stumbled onto this one, because i was going to use this scan for the last album but it got lost in the jumble. but this is too perfect. This is only a ruff idea, i'll probably work with the text and maybe not have the bird on top so the oragami presense will be more obscured.

Me and the shape of energy

i think our new album should be called "the shape of energy". The concept is that energy can neither be destroyed or created, only the shape of energy can be destroyed. It is about music and energy relating in cycles of birth, death, and rebirth. Everything dies and then comes back in a new form and shape, we are going to reference old soul, country, pop, and old indie rock (and oh yes old indie rock exists try cap n'jazz motherfuckers). "the shape of energy" is the collision of references and rebirth of music into our selves to revive a new enery all together.

The China Buffet in town has just burnt down and i watched it as the fire fighters doused this rarely attended restaurant. Very bizarre day today, I can kind of feel it though I am reading "Another Roadside Attraction" by Tom Robbins and that book is just incredibly bizarre. Circus bears, magic underpants, gypsies.

Sometimes you just have to laugh

i feel kind of childish for posting this, but man is the first short funny. It is spring break time now and i am just watching movies constantly. I saw "Tazaa: The High Rollers" - Really fucking good and then i watched "Rocket Science" and again really fucking good. I have been having very lucky lately in movie watching.
