this was a sculpture project of me and Dave. We built it in a sort of wright brothers/ man against gravity notion.

well not really, but im doing alright. Kenneth Patchen has a great quote that is really hard to explain completely. he says "I want to be a carpet in a cathouse" which is interesting because it could be taken as i want to be born in the shit of it. It is talking about being underneath something mainly. Being probably covered in layers of hair or at least that is what i have always picture when thinking of this quote. I've got one "I want to be the sewers of Venice." Your full of shit but is french/pretentious/and probably insanely hot (by hot i mean attractive).

Its a little something called acting

boy do i need a lot more practice. but the writing is really fun, i think zach and nate have an interesting take on things. They're good writers and we are working on a fantasy movie right now, well a magical realist film. About the destruction of perception (kind of).

I work at the library

I really want to be a ghostbuster and/or Bill Murray. It is the time for people to be who they want to be because of pagans. Man my spelling is just awesome today. I am in the midst of doing a big-fackingly-huge installation right now. well it isnt that big but i am doing it by myself and i only have five days to complete it. My hands and feet hurt just after the first night of work but i am going to kill this thing.

We make imagination

Here is a short film, well part of a short film we made in the summer. We had some problema so the only thing we got were these scenes. We did shoot more story but you know it is just kind of funny to see this. click "watch in high quality" otherwise you might not be able to see anything.

I"VE created a Monster with dave

the first scupture assignment this year was supposed to be about massive amounts of non traditional material converted out of its own context and into the realm of sculpture. Well before we even heard of this assignment me and dave planned on making a monster that would turn into a performance piece. Well i guess everything that led up to showing the piece was also part of the performance. We kept it a secret form our class what we were doing and didnt even tell our friends the punchline. we wanted everyone to experience the rediculousness of it. We wanted to set a tone of somewhat saying that we are willing to go way overboard with this class and don't plan on bullshitting. Fuck bullshit. well that is a little harsh but you know we kind of wanted to do this and we committed to it no matter how rediculous it was going to be and I'm glad we stuck to it, You have to finish your ideas to realize if they are good or bad. I wish it was a little more epic but you know it isnt that easy of a thing to pull off.

i love these guys. "Music Which Feeds the Guests" is named after a song these guys do, i just ripped off the name because the song was so good and the titles translation is amazing. I reference a lot, it is the only thing i can truly do and i guess that is why im decent at a few things.

im writing like crazy these days trying to finish up the script for Tsustamagusie, which I think it is turning out pretty good though. It is probably my most serious effort, I wanted to make a good movie and not just a spoof.

I've been writing a bunch of songs lately that have been clicking with everyone so i think that the new Hooks record is going to be really tight and not forced. Its important not to force yourself to create something big (and i dont mean like we're awesome and are going to destroy the world with our tunes, i just mean that i really like these last few songs alot).

Mysticism and metaphysics

great scotts what a crazy affair. Millions of ideas and theories thrwon at me in some sort of circus side show routine. I feel great devouring knowledge like it is something you can feed on and become stronger. I feel like an ass also knowing that i will use this knowledge for good and bad. The good of this information sparks ideas and lights a fire underneathe imagination. The bad is in I love to argue so i'll probably quote this information to piss people off, but i guess that is how it goes.

I am also getting a car bc my parents are tossing an old one away. i am now the proud owner of a chevy blazer

damn today was a bitch, we partied for Amy's 21st last night and i danced on a bar table. God bars are ridiculous, too many people and no one around with any sense to them. Which is great at some points to just stop thinking and live right in front of you, but damn drinking wears on you. I finished a portfolio print today and my bank acount says $10.81. our first track off the new recording is almost done and we just recorded drums for 4 more songs and wrote 2 brand new songs besides those.

Cartoons are really relaxing i feel and some even make you think and contemplate ideas. I am watching Black Lagoon right now and it is surprisingly amazing. Action, adventure and reason, very great combination. The first episode kind of sucked but almost all intros to anything are slow and not as good, but it is needed. I am waiting for the 13th episode to load right now so this post was just to use my time while waiting. Sweet release.

new thoughts on an idea

isaac says Mono already used oragami in the inside of one of their albums, but you know what fuck Mono. Im pretty sure the paper crane as an idea has been done many times, but we're talking about the shape of energy. I dont think anyone who has used this widely known symbol of origami animals, was talking about the transfer of energy through physics. All i'm saying is "never back down" (sorry inside joke, but you get it). the idea is air tight and it even has really funny points to it. Dave was talking about when the crane dies and goes back to a sheet of paper when another animal is made out of it, that animal still has the creases from the crane. man just think about it.
the triangle has also been used before so i hope i am not ripping anyone off by stating it points at the heavens while being grounded by earth (yes even more symbolism, chris this is your chance to shine your art history upon us).

i kind of just stumbled onto this one, because i was going to use this scan for the last album but it got lost in the jumble. but this is too perfect. This is only a ruff idea, i'll probably work with the text and maybe not have the bird on top so the oragami presense will be more obscured.

Me and the shape of energy

i think our new album should be called "the shape of energy". The concept is that energy can neither be destroyed or created, only the shape of energy can be destroyed. It is about music and energy relating in cycles of birth, death, and rebirth. Everything dies and then comes back in a new form and shape, we are going to reference old soul, country, pop, and old indie rock (and oh yes old indie rock exists try cap n'jazz motherfuckers). "the shape of energy" is the collision of references and rebirth of music into our selves to revive a new enery all together.

The China Buffet in town has just burnt down and i watched it as the fire fighters doused this rarely attended restaurant. Very bizarre day today, I can kind of feel it though I am reading "Another Roadside Attraction" by Tom Robbins and that book is just incredibly bizarre. Circus bears, magic underpants, gypsies.

Sometimes you just have to laugh

i feel kind of childish for posting this, but man is the first short funny. It is spring break time now and i am just watching movies constantly. I saw "Tazaa: The High Rollers" - Really fucking good and then i watched "Rocket Science" and again really fucking good. I have been having very lucky lately in movie watching.
